Tyropitakia (Miniature Cheese Pies with Yogurt Dough)
Ingredients
Serves 35-40 miniature cheese pies
Ingredients for the Dough
- 1 small bowl (200g.) of strained yogurt
- 180g. of olive oil
- a pinch of salt
- 400g of self-rising flour
- 1 egg
Ingredients for the filling
- 200g. of feta cheese
- 100g. of grated kefalotiri cheese
- a pinch of pepper
- 1 egg
Directions
Place the yogurt, olive oil, and salt in a bowl and mix. Slowly add the flour and mix until it forms a soft dough. Roll a thick sheet of dough and cut with round cookie cutters. Mix all the ingredients well. Add 1 large spoonful of filling to the center of every dough cutout and fold in the shape of a half moon. Press on the edges with your fingers to seal them.
Place the miniature pies onto a pan lined with non-stick paper and lightly brush their surface with a whipped egg. Cook in a pre-heated over at 180° C for 10'-15'.
