Saganaki (fried cheese) made with beer batter
Ingredients
- 4 thick cheese slices (talagani/halloumi, or graviera, or kefalotyri or formaela, or any melting cheese you like)
- 1/2 can beer
- all-purpose flour
- pepper
- oil, for frying
Directions

In a bowl, mix the beer, pepper, and as much flour as needed to make a thick batter.

Dip the cheese slices into the batter and place them in a pan with hot oil. Fry on once side, then the other side, until golden. Place on absorbent paper. Serve hot, with lemon juice.
